There are a large number of Zimbabwean nationals living in South Africa. After so many years of friendly relations with the South African people with who they have always been in close contact, it is natural for the Zimbabwean community to feel at home in SA, and to want to receive a natural treatment.

I listed all bursaries for Zimbabwean Students in South Africa, to make those in SA benefit from the various scholarships available to them.  this sets of funding opportunities in order to advance their education.

SAWISE Scholarships for Sub-Saharan and South African Women

SAWISE Scholarships for Sub-Saharan and South African Women is a programme by which funding is provided for tuition in order to help women from Sub-Saharan Africa study. Since Zimbabwe is a Sub Saharan country, Zimbabwean students in South Africa are very welcome to apply.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must be women from Sub-Saharan Africa/ South Africa.

Applicants must be studying Bachelors/Undergraduate or Masters programmes.

Students may be studying in South Africa, or anywhere else in Sub-Saharan Africa.

How to Apply:

Provide your Curriculum vitae.

Provide an official academic transcript (a record).

Provide a letter of motivation (~350 words).

Provide a certified copy of your ID.

Royal Society International Exchange Programme

The Royal Society International Exchange Programme provides Partial Funding for students of all nationalities (including Zimbabweans) to enable them to advance their studies. This bursary scheme offered by the Royal Society provides partial funding; which covers tuition and accommodation.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must be Post Doctorate Students.

Applicants can come from any country.

Applicants must be studying Natural Sciences.

TUT Postgraduate Scholarships

TUT Postgraduate Scholarships is a Full Funding program by the Tshwane University of Technology for international students. The program is primarily to help international students with funding because they are often left out in the scheme of things as regards funding. The scheme is open to Zimbabweans, and students of all nationalities.

Eligibility requirements:

Students must be studying for Masters or Ph.D. degrees.

Students must be studying at the Tshwane University of Technology

Students must be studying social and human sciences, or economic and management sciences, or natural and applied sciences, or more preferably engineering and technology.

If you are already a student at TUT, just go to the financial aid office of your campus and make enquiries about this bursary scheme. MCW Global Young Leaders Access Program

The MCW Global Young Leaders Access Program is a program designed for students, in order to bring out the best in them both academically, and career-wise. This involves a series of Training and Short courses which will be fully funded by the organization. This program is open to students of all nationalities including Zimbabweans.

After graduating from the intensive training program, you may now apply for a grant of up to $5000 to help set you up for a successful career.

IMU Breakout Graduate Fellowship Program

The IMU Breakout Graduate Fellowship Program is a program dedicated to the study and conquest of mathematics. This program is only open to those that have a keen interest in mathematics, and want to become professional mathematicians. The program provides full funding for mathematics studies leading up to the Ph.D. level. It is open to Zimbabweans and nationals of other developing countries.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must be from developing countries.

Applicants must be set to study for Ph.D. in mathematics. (Either presently studying, or at least have been accepted)

Applicant must not be receiving any other bursary or scholarship.

The Toptal STEM Scholarships for Women is a bursary/scholarship program designed to provide partial funding for students in need. The programme is open to Secondary School, Bachelors’s, and Masters’s students. Particular attention is paid to Science & Engineering students. Programme is open to Zimbabweans and other nationalities.

Applicants must be women. 

Applicants must have a track record of academic excellence.

Berows International Scholarship Program Test (BISPT)

Berows International Scholarship Program Test (BISPT) is a bursary programme designed to provide financial aid to students in need. It is open to Secondary School, Bachelors, Masters students. British Council – IELTS Award is a special funding program by the British Government. This program can be taken in any country and is open to Zimbabweans and all other nationalities.
