An admission point of 28 is required, in addition to a programme specific minimum score in specific subjects.
How to score a minimum of 28 in your AP score:
Example:
- In 3 academic subjects, you need a minimum achievement level of 5 (60%) 3*5: 15
- In another 3 academic subjects, you need to have an achievement level of 4 (50) 3*4:12
- In the subject of life orientation, you need an achievement level of 5 (60%) or higher to get 1 point.
- Overall AP score 1*1*1:28
Programme Specific Requirements
- You need to pass Mathematics at an achievement level 5 (60%)
- You need to pass physical science at an achievement level of 5 (60%)
- English at an achievement level of 4 (50%)
Bachelor Of Diagnostic Radiology B. RAD (DIAGN.)
The bachelor of diagnostic radiology B. RAD (DIAGN) degree program has a different set of requirements that candidates need to scale in order to be considered for admission.
For reasons bordering on capacity and population, only a limited number of candidates can be admitted to the degree programme. Applicants who fulfill the institution’s requirements have to be interviewed before the final selection for this programme can be concluded. Any candidate who has been refused admission into any other university shall not be registered into this degree program.
Admission Requirements:
Matriculation Exemption Certificate
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of admission, and must also have a matriculation exemption certificate issued by the south African matriculation board. They must have pass marks in mathematics, physical science, a combined rating of 9 on higher or standard grade.
National Senior Certificate (NSC) Applicants
Candidates are also required to have taken the national senior certificate examinations, and must have passed at least 4 of the 7 school subjects with a minimum level of 4 (50%)

A minimum point score of 24 is required for admission to the B. RAD program. That is in addition to getting specific points in certain designated subjects.
- You need to Pass Mathematics with a minimum achievement level of 4 (50% to 59%)
- You need to pass Physical Science with a minimum achievement level of 4 (50% to 59%)
- You need to pass the English Language with a minimum achievement level 4 (50% to 59%) which is a total of 12.
