How to Cancel Cell C Contract (2023)

Cell C is one of the various telecommunication companies that is fast rising to prominence among young people in South Africa. All thanks to the company’s many promotional deals and offers which have only helped to expand the company’s customer base. Cell C offers data contracts such as the Smart Contracts and the Pinnacle Contracts designed for heavy data users and balanced data users respectively.

To cancel your Cell C contract, you can choose to do that via the Cell C website, the Cell C App, or through a phone call to the customer care office. Cell C has made it stress-free for customers to either cancel or change their data contracts as they deem fit. Cell C users can decide to cancel their contracts at any time however, a 30 days notice is required to cancel a Cell C data contract. 

How to Cancel Cell C Contract

  • Using the Cell C Website

You can cancel your Cell C contract by visiting the official website of Cell C at www.cellc.co.za and login in with your details as required. Next, you will be required to go to the dashboard where you will be able to view current contracts and subscriptions. Then click on the contract option and select cancel. You have successfully cancelled your Cell C contract. 

  • Using the Cell C App

You can also cancel a Cell C contract on the Cell C App just as you would do it on the website. You must have first downloaded the Cell C App from the Play Store or IOS store and installed it on your smartphone. Log in to the App and go to your dashboard to select Cancel Contract to cancel your Cell C contract via the Cell C App. 

  • Using the Cell C Customer care

If you prefer to cancel your Cell C contract via a phone call, you can do that by contacting the Cell C customer care office. To contact the Cell C customer care office, you can call them on 084 143 and select the second option which will take you to the cancellation department. When an agent attends to you, let them know that you wish to cancel a data contract and they will take it up from there. 

Alternatively, you can also choose to walk into any Cell C store and request the attendants to assist you with cancelling your Cell C contract. Any funds on your card at the time of contract cancellation will also be cancelled. However, Cell C is committed to making communication cheap and stress-free for everyone. 

You must inform the company that you wish to cancel your contract 30 days before the cancellation of your contract to ensure that you will not be charged for the following or coming months. There are no fees attached to cancelling your Cell C contract however, there is a mandated notice and waiting period. 

How to Choose Another Cell C Contract

If you want to sign up for another contract, then you need to first visit the Cell C website at www.cellc.co.za. You can also choose another Cell C contract if you have the App on your smartphone. If you have not downloaded it, you should download it from the Play Store or IOS store and install it on your smartphone. When you log into the website or App, you will be able to view various data contracts as well as promotional offers. 

There are two major types of contracts which are the Smart Data contract and the Pinnacle Data contract. The Smart Data contract was designed for those who use heavy amounts of data while the Pinnacle Data contract was designed for people who desire to balance data, voice calls and SMS. There are different contracts and you can decide on what contract best suits your budget and go ahead to click on it. You will be required to log in and provide your card details after clicking on your desired contract so that you can be charged for the contract you chose.

Cards are charged on the 25th of every month after which you will receive the subscription value on the 1st day of the next month. If you signed up for a new contract before the 25th, your first payment will be a percentage of the full amount depending on the number of days left in the month. For instance, if you are to pay R269 for the first month of a Pinnacle contract, you would be required to only pay a percentage of that amount like R100 or R150 all based on the date you subscribed for the contract. 

If you signed up for the contract after the 25th of the month, you will be required to pay for the days left in the month and the full amount for the next month. For instance, instead of R269 for a Pinnacle contract, you will be required to pay more. However, you will be charged the normal amount in the coming months for high-quality service. Interestingly, new customers will be credited for the time taken to deliver and activate the SIM.

Cell C does not try to force their customers to sign up for long-term subscriptions such as 2 years. Instead, Cell C gives its customers a good experience of quality service that will encourage customers to decide to stay on the network.  If customers think that they can get a better deal somewhere else or they just desire to change their experience are free to cancel their contracts at any time with no cancellation charges.
